My Silence, My Grave pulls inspiration from a variety of indie, giallo, and psychological, horror films. The four primary influences are Knife + Heart, Paranoia Agent, The Lighthouse, and Suspiria.

Knife + Heart (2018)

High saturation and high contrast, neo noir urban grit, juxtaposition of colors and locations, people living on the fringes of society, unity against a common enemy and ambiguous, fantastical imagery

Paranoia Agent (2004)

Perspective bending, slipping grasp on reality, match cut actions and themes, juxtaposition of shot hues and saturation, and unreliable narrator

The Lighthouse (2019)

Slow descent into madness, trapped in dismal conditions, unclear passage of time, hallucinations, unreliable narrator, and the disparity between fantasy and reality

Suspiria (1977)

Surrealism, vibrant colors and stark contrast, camera movements and angles, mirrors and shots of reflections, and use of inserts
